Accounting & Finance Associate (Junior to Senior Level)

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (5 days in office)

Pay:

Junior Level / Intermediate Level: $56,000 – $70,000 annually

Senior Level: $65,000 – $90,000 annually

About the Role

We are hiring for this position at multiple levels (Junior to Senior), depending on experience.

This is a single-position hire, and the level will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.

This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and month-end processes.

At the senior level, the role will also involve financial analysis, process improvement, and team support responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, posting, and payment tracking
  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting system data
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Prepare and process payments, including vendor invoices and expense documentation
  • Support month-end close processes and generate financial reports (e.g., income statement, balance sheet)
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation
  • Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and special accounting projects as needed

Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level):

  • Analyze financial and operational data to support business decision-making
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Review accounting processes and recommend improvements
  • Support audit and tax-related processes to ensure compliance
  • Provide guidance, training, or oversight to junior team members
  • Monitor workflow and identify areas for efficiency and accuracy improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
  • Hands-on experience with AP/AR and general accounting processes
  • Basic understanding of Canadian GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Chartered Professional Account (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certified or in-progress is an asset.
