A global manufacturer and supplier within the medical device industry is seeking a Business Development / Technical Sales Representative to support continued business growth across the West Coast region. This position focuses on developing relationships with OEM and contract medical device manufacturers while driving strategic sales growth and expanding key customer accounts. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with OEM and medical device manufacturing customers
- Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
- Analyze customer needs and propose suitable technical solutions/products
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to support business strategy
- Support pricing strategy, product positioning, and customer proposals
- Collaborate closely with engineering, purchasing, and global teams
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and customer meetings
- Provide accurate quotations, forecasts, and sales reports
- Support long-term strategic growth initiatives within the territory
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Technical Sales
- Business Development
- Key Account Management
- Product Management
- Experience within medical device, manufacturing, engineering, or technical industries preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts
- Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Japanese bilingual
Preferred Background
- Medical device manufacturing industry experience
- OEM or contract manufacturing knowledge
- Technical or scientific educational background
- Experience working with international teams
Additional Information
- Hybrid schedule available after training period
- Travel required (approximately 25-50%)
