Manager of Business Development – Polymer Resins (Packaging Applications)

We are seeking a commercially driven sales professional with experience in the petrochemical / polymer resin industry to support business growth across North and South America.
This role focuses on developing new business, managing customer accounts, and executing sales strategy for polymer-based materials used in packaging and industrial applications. The position works closely with internal technical, operations, and supply teams to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.
The ideal candidate combines commercial leadership with the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers across the petrochemical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new business by identifying customers, applications, and market opportunities
Build and manage long-term relationships with converters, compounders, and distribution partners
Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, providing ongoing support
Recommend pricing strategies and support contract development
Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
Provide sales analysis, forecasts, and input for business planning (MTP, budget, monthly forecast)
Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams (technical, operations, supply chain)
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Must-Have Qualifications:
Direct sales experience in the petrochemical resin industry
Experience selling polymers/resins into converters (directly or through distribution)
Strong relationship-building and customer engagement skills
Ability to travel as needed across the Americas
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in plastics, polymers, or related industries
Familiarity with extrusion-based applications is a plus
Strongly Preferred:
Exposure to packaging, film, or coextrusion applications
Familiarity with materials such as polyolefins (PE/PP), nylon (PA), EVOH, or functional resins
Experience with extrusion processes (film, pipe, coating, etc.)
