Manager of Business Development – Polymer Resins (Packaging Applications)

We are seeking a commercially driven sales professional with experience in the petrochemical / polymer resin industry to support business growth across North and South America.

This role focuses on developing new business, managing customer accounts, and executing sales strategy for polymer-based materials used in packaging and industrial applications. The position works closely with internal technical, operations, and supply teams to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.

The ideal candidate combines commercial leadership with the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers across the petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business by identifying customers, applications, and market opportunities
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with converters, compounders, and distribution partners
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, providing ongoing support
  • Recommend pricing strategies and support contract development
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
  • Provide sales analysis, forecasts, and input for business planning (MTP, budget, monthly forecast)
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams (technical, operations, supply chain)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Direct sales experience in the petrochemical resin industry
  • Experience selling polymers/resins into converters (directly or through distribution)
  • Strong relationship-building and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to travel as needed across the Americas
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in plastics, polymers, or related industries
  • Familiarity with extrusion-based applications is a plus

 Strongly Preferred:

  • Exposure to packaging, film, or coextrusion applications
  • Familiarity with materials such as polyolefins (PE/PP), nylon (PA), EVOH, or functional resins
  • Experience with extrusion processes (film, pipe, coating, etc.)
