We are expanding into the U.S. market and seeking our first U.S.-based Business Development Manager to lead new customer acquisition and build our sales foundation from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity to join as a founding sales hire, where you will play a critical role in shaping go-to-market strategy, establishing sales processes, and driving early revenue growth.
You will act as a frontline hunter, opening doors and closing deals, while helping scale the business toward a $1B+ global logistics technology platform.
Your Mission
Drive new customer acquisition across the U.S. market
Act as a hunter, generating and closing high-quality opportunities
Ensure strong onboarding and early customer success
Build and refine sales processes, tools, and culture from zero
What You’ll Do
1. New Business Acquisition
Identify, target, and win new customers through outbound outreach, referrals, and industry networks
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting → discovery → pitch → pricing → negotiation → close
Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets
2. Go-to-Market Execution
Partner closely with executive leadership to execute U.S. GTM strategy
Develop and refine:
Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP)
Messaging and positioning
Qualification criteria and sales playbooks
3. Customer Onboarding & Early Success
Ensure a structured and seamless onboarding experience
Act as the bridge between Sales and Operations
Proactively resolve cross-functional challenges to ensure delivery excellence
4. Product Feedback & Market Insights
Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering teams
Help shape product roadmap (TMS / OMS / WMS) based on customer needs
5. Pipeline & Performance Management
Maintain accurate CRM data and pipeline visibility
Track KPIs and deliver reliable forecasts
Continuously improve conversion rates across the funnel
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
at least 3+ years of B2B sales experience in:
Logistics
Freight forwarding
Supply chain solutions
Proven track record of new customer acquisition and quota achievement
Strong understanding of freight operations (FCL / LCL required; Air is a plus)
Bilingual in Japanese and English (required)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
U.S. work authorization
