Job Title: Buyer – Japanese Bilingual

Location: Sugar Land, TX (Hybrid Schedule after initial training period – 4 days in office, 1-day WFH)

Salary: $52-65K (DOE)

Department: Aerospace Sales

Report To: Sr. Manager, IPO                          

FLSA: Non-exempt

Buyer (Bilingual Japanese/English)

Position Overview

A global company in the aerospace industry is seeking a Bilingual Buyer to support purchasing and export operations. This role is responsible for sourcing a wide range of components from multiple vendors and coordinating closely with internal teams and overseas stakeholders, particularly in Japan.

The Buyer will act as a key liaison between vendors and international customers, ensuring smooth communication, timely delivery, and compliance with U.S. export regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage quoting, purchasing, receiving, and invoicing processes
  • Process data entry including S.O., P.O., RMA, and credit transactions
  • Coordinate delivery updates, expedite orders, and track shipments
  • Communicate with vendors and overseas teams (primarily Japan) to resolve issues
  • Support export operations including ITAR/DOS license applications and compliance
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
  • Utilize purchasing strategies such as forecast buying, blanket orders, and letters of intent
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Native-level bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken) required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in purchasing, supply chain, or export operations is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of U.S. export regulations (ITAR/DOS) is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
