IT Specialist (SAP Support) – Madison, AL (On-site)

Support a global automotive manufacturer supplying Mazda and Toyota, with a growing U.S. operation since 2019
Overview
This role sits at the intersection of IT and manufacturing operations, supporting SAP users across key business functions (SD/MM/PP/FICO). You’ll play a key role in keeping systems running smoothly in a production environment while working closely with internal teams and external SAP partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide SAP end-user support across SD/MM/PP/FICO modules
Troubleshoot system issues (transactions, performance, login, errors)
Escalate complex issues to external SAP consultants as needed
Perform system health checks and monitor performance
Support SAP updates, testing, and enhancements
Train users and develop documentation/manuals
Track and document tickets, resolutions, and recurring issues
Collaborate with business units to align SAP functionality with operations
Ensure compliance with SAP security, roles, and data integrity standards
Additional IT Responsibilities
Support plant and office IT systems (hardware, software, network, telecom)
Troubleshoot manufacturing systems and equipment-related IT issues
Maintain IT equipment inventory and system configurations
Install, upgrade, and reallocate systems as needed
Support communication systems (phones, cabling, etc.)
Maintain security and virus protection across systems
Respond to IT issues impacting production operations
Qualifications
1–3 years of SAP end-user support experience
Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC 6.0
Experience supporting users and creating documentation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work on-site in both office and manufacturing environments
Preferred
EDI experience (830/850/856/862/810/820/824)
Experience with IBM Sterling B2B or OpenText
Automotive or manufacturing industry experience
Exposure to SAP implementation or project work
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
