Japanese industrial manufacturing holding company in NYC seeks Japanese Bilingual\u00a0CFO,\u00a0as a strategic executive responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and driving financial performance across the organization. This role requires a balance of operational leadership, risk management, and strategic planning to support both domestic and international business activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Strategic Financial Leadership:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with corporate goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Lead and develop accounting, finance\/treasury and credit teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Support expansion, warehousing, and logistics initiatives with financial insights.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Advise the CEO and Board of Managers on financial planning and risk management.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Operations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and board reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Manage working capital, cash flow, and credit lines to support seasonal fluctuations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Implement risk hedge strategies for foreign currency transactions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Internal Controls & Risk Management:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Direct the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and governance protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Ensure compliance with J-SOX and other internal control frameworks, including reporting requirements related to internal controls.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Maintain compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Liaise with auditors, regulators, insurance providers and financial institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Credit Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Oversee the credit department and ensure robust credit policies are in place to assess customer risk and manage exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Approve credit limits and monitor receivables aging, past due accounts, and bad debt reserves.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Collaborate with sales and operations to align credit decisions with business growth while protecting cash flow.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Lead initiatives to improve DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and reduce delinquency rates.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Operational Efficiency<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Collaborate with commercial teams (sales and purchasing) and provide financial and administrative support and advice to drive strategic growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Partner with operations to optimize cost of delivery, warehouse efficiency, and vendor terms.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Lead cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives, including adoption of new technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, or related field and a MBA or CPA (or equivalent) is required.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> 15+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in distribution, logistics, or supply chain.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Strong knowledge of internal controls and risk management practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.<\/span><\/p>\n
