Position Overview<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead a U.S.-based engineering organization within the Circular Tech sector. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for establishing the engineering foundation that powers device lifecycle operations, logistics systems, and marketplace platforms.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll work closely with U.S. business leadership while collaborating with a global technology partner in Japan\u2014building an independent, scalable engineering function with long-term ownership and growth potential.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n

Engineering Organization Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Build, hire, and lead the engineering team from the ground up<\/li>\n
  • Establish strong engineering culture centered on ownership and operational excellence<\/li>\n
  • Define processes, team structure, and best practices<\/li>\n
  • Align engineering initiatives with business and operational goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Production Reliability & Operational Ownership<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Ensure stability and performance of production systems supporting core operations<\/li>\n
    • Implement incident management, on-call rotations, and root cause analysis processes<\/li>\n
    • Drive monitoring, observability, and system optimization initiatives<\/li>\n
    • Maintain engineering ownership of operational continuity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Global Engineering Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Partner with international engineering teams to share architecture and best practices<\/li>\n
      • Coordinate development and operational efforts across distributed teams<\/li>\n
      • Foster effective cross-regional communication and execution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Platform & Product Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Lead development of internal platforms, warehouse systems, and operational tools<\/li>\n
        • Partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions<\/li>\n
        • Drive predictable and efficient software delivery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n<\/hr>\n

          Required Qualifications<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • 7+ years of software engineering experience<\/li>\n
          • 3+ years leading or managing engineers<\/li>\n
          • Experience building or scaling engineering teams<\/li>\n
          • Strong experience owning and operating production systems<\/li>\n
          • Proficiency with modern development practices (Git, CI\/CD, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, software lifecycle management)<\/li>\n
          • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills<\/li>\n
          • Ability to commute to Long Island, NY (hybrid model)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n<\/hr>\n

            Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain systems<\/li>\n
            • Experience working with distributed\/global engineering teams<\/li>\n
            • Cloud experience (GCP or AWS)<\/li>\n
            • Background in scalable backend systems<\/li>\n
            • Experience with Go, Python, or TypeScript<\/li>\n
            • Experience building engineering teams from early stages<\/li>\n
            • Experience in enterprise or global corporate environments<\/li>\n
            • Business-level Japanese proficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
