<\/p>\n

An international freight forwarder is seeking a Sales Manager for its Air & Ocean Freight Department. This position will be responsible for driving business growth by developing new customers and expanding existing accounts.<\/p>\n

The Sales Manager will oversee up to four team members and report directly to the General Manager. This role requires a strong sales background in international freight forwarding and the ability to lead business development initiatives while ensuring excellent customer service and operational coordination.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sales & Business Development<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Develop new business opportunities and acquire new customer accounts<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Expand and manage relationships with existing customers to grow revenue<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Prepare customized proposals and pricing strategies to secure new freight opportunities<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Negotiate rates and service terms with customers to close profitable deals<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Monitor market trends, spot rates, and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Provide weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and revenue forecasts to management<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Visit customers, vendors, and ports as necessary to support business development<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Build and develop a high-performing freight brokerage operation and support team growth<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Operations & Customer Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Collaborate with ocean carriers, airlines, warehouses, carriers, dispatch, and operations teams to ensure smooth freight execution<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Coordinate with customs brokers and U.S. Customs when necessary<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Monitor and resolve customer service issues reported by staff<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Communicate delays or service issues to customers and provide solutions<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Record and track issues such as late deliveries, claims, or damages in the company system<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including following up on overdue invoices<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Assist in collecting outstanding customer payments<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Help develop and implement operational procedures and process improvements<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Track departmental expenses and ensure operations remain within budget<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support sales initiatives and report department performance to management<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n
        \n
      • Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered<\/span><\/li>\n
      • 3+ years of direct sales experience in air and ocean freight forwarding<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Strong communication and negotiation skills<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) required<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Valid driver\u2019s license required<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
