We are an agency recruiter supporting our client in hiring for a critical early-stage role within the ophthalmic medical device space. This position will play a central role in launching and establishing a new product in the U.S. retinal market.<\/p>\n

This role focuses on building the market from the ground up\u2014leveraging clinical engagement, KOL partnerships, and distributor collaboration rather than relying solely on existing brand recognition or extensive clinical data.<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 5\u20138+ years of experience in the ophthalmic medical device industry, especially in retina\/vitreoretinal space<\/li>\n
  • Hands-on experience with disposable (single-use) surgical instruments<\/li>\n
  • Direct experience engaging with vitreoretinal surgeons (e.g., Clinical Specialist, Market Development, or hybrid sales roles)<\/li>\n
  • Experience working with or supporting U.S. distributor networks<\/li>\n
  • Ability to operate effectively in an early-stage environment with limited data and structure<\/li>\n
  • Prior experience with companies specializing in vitreoretinal instruments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

    KOL & Clinical Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Identify and build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in retina\/vitreoretinal field<\/li>\n
    • Support product evaluations, wet labs, and hands-on training sessions<\/li>\n
    • Translate limited bench\/pre-clinical data into compelling clinical value propositions<\/li>\n
    • Gather feedback from surgeons and incorporate insights into messaging and strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Market Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Define clear use cases where the product can differentiate (e.g., ILM\/ERM peeling)<\/li>\n
      • Develop strong clinical narratives in data-limited environments<\/li>\n
      • Support planning and execution of workshops and small meetings at conferences (e.g., ASRS, AAO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Distributor Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Support selection and onboarding of U.S. distributors in collaboration with leadership<\/li>\n
        • Train distributor sales teams on product positioning and clinical value<\/li>\n
        • Act as a clinical\/product point of contact for early-stage distributor partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Internal Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Provide market and clinical feedback to HQ teams (R&D, Marketing, Leadership)<\/li>\n
