This role supports multiple retail locations in anime-related merchandising and promotional activities. Responsibilities include coordinating with publishers, managing inventory and sales data, supporting in-store displays, and assisting with events and conventions.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • 30%<\/strong>: Communicate with publishers, gather information on new and trending titles, place orders, and support promotional planning.<\/li>\n
  • 40%<\/strong>: Manage product information, place orders, analyze sales\/inventory data, prepare reports, and collaborate with marketing\/PR teams.<\/li>\n
  • 20%<\/strong>: Support in-store merchandising, displays, and inventory control (primarily NY location).<\/li>\n
  • 10%<\/strong>: Assist with anime-related events and conventions (in-store and external).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Merchandising & Inventory Management<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Support development of merchandising strategies to increase sales and profitability<\/li>\n
    • Identify trends and customer demand to optimize product selection<\/li>\n
    • Coordinate with store teams on merchandising execution and display setup<\/li>\n
    • Analyze sales and inventory data to adjust product assortment and allocation<\/li>\n
    • Assist in pricing strategies including promotions and discounts<\/li>\n
    • Manage stock freshness and coordinate product returns<\/li>\n
    • Develop strategies for non-returnable inventory (discounts, clearance, etc.)<\/li>\n
    • Support logistics by coordinating invoices and vendor communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n<\/hr>\n

      Promotion & Event Coordination<\/h4>\n
        \n
      • Assist in planning and executing promotional campaigns and events<\/li>\n
      • Conduct market research to identify opportunities<\/li>\n
      • Coordinate events such as author appearances<\/li>\n
      • Analyze event performance and suggest improvements<\/li>\n
      • Prepare reports and collaborate with marketing\/PR teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Publisher & Vendor Relations<\/h4>\n
          \n
        • Maintain communication with publisher representatives<\/li>\n
        • Gather information on new and bestselling titles<\/li>\n
        • Negotiate pricing, discounts, and return terms<\/li>\n
        • Develop cooperative promotional opportunities<\/li>\n
        • Manage balance between direct and distributor orders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Maintain organized and safe work environment<\/li>\n
          • Support administrative and data entry tasks (purchases, invoices, expenses)<\/li>\n

            Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n

            Education & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

            • At least 1 year of relevant experience in merchandising, retail, or related field<\/li>\n
            • Familiarity with books, manga, or related merchandise preferred<\/li>\n
            • High school diploma or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

              • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)<\/li>\n
              • Strong analytical and organizational skills<\/li>\n
              • Strong communication skills (English required; Japanese a plus)<\/li>\n
              • Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively<\/li>\n
              • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
